Erik Fetzer
Erik Fetzer is the founder of MyShopView, a manufacturing ERP platform built to bring real-time visibility and control to the shop floor. Unlike software designed from the outside in, MyShopView grew directly out of Erik's more than 30 years of hands-on manufacturing experience at Fetzer Architectural Woodwork, a custom architectural woodwork and store fixture manufacturer.
Over three decades in a demanding, high-mix production environment, Erik saw firsthand where conventional ERP systems fell short—and what a shop actually needs to track jobs, route work through the plant, manage labor and materials, and keep complex projects on schedule and on budget. He built MyShopView to close that gap: an ERP designed by a manufacturer, for manufacturers, rooted in the daily realities of running a working shop rather than theory.
Today, Erik channels that experience into helping other manufacturers gain the same clarity and operational discipline that comes from knowing exactly what's happening on the floor.
Questions shop owners ask first.
Straight answers from someone who runs a shop.
Will MyShopView work with our existing CNCs and edgebanders?+
Yes. We support cut-list export to the major nesting and CNC controllers used in millwork shops (Biesse, SCM, Felder, Holzher, Anderson, AXYZ, and others). For anything outside that list we ingest cut lists via CSV or PDF — we never force a hardware change.
How long does onboarding take?+
Most shops are running live work orders inside the first two weeks. We import your active jobs, mirror your existing routing, and train per role (estimator, PM, shop lead, operator) — not as one big rollout.
Do we own our data?+
Yes. Your project files, BOMs, drawings, time tickets, and customer records are yours. Full SQL exports are available at any time, and on the Pro plan we can deploy to your own infrastructure.
What's the difference between Basic and Pro?+
Basic ($300/mo) covers a single shop: kanban work orders, BOM, bids, labor, QC, and CRM. Pro ($500/mo) adds multi-shop, installations scheduling, AI takeoff, and priority support. See the pricing page for the full comparison.
Why not just keep using spreadsheets and QuickBooks?+
Spreadsheets don't move with the job. A WO sitting on a shop-floor whiteboard can't tell the estimator it slipped, can't log labor against the right phase, and can't catch a re-cut before it ships. MyShopView replaces the 4–6 disconnected tools most shops glue together — without forcing a new accounting system.
